Cancellation Policy - Mithun Bakes and Caters

At Mithun Bakes and Caters, we understand that plans can change. Please review our cancellation policy carefully before placing your order.
Standard Orders (Cakes, Pastries, Baked Goods)
Before Production Begins:
- Cancellations made 24-48 hours before the scheduled pickup/delivery time are eligible for a full refund
- Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel
- Refunds will be processed within 5-7 business days
After Production Begins:
- Once we have started preparing your order, cancellations are not accepted
- This is because ingredients have been used and time has been invested in creating your custom items
- We may consider rescheduling delivery/pickup on a case-by-case basis
Custom Cake Orders
Advance Notice Required:
- Cancellations must be made at least 48-72 hours before the scheduled delivery/pickup time
- Custom cakes require significant preparation time and specialized ingredients
- Once design work and production have begun, cancellations are not accepted
Design Consultation:
- After the design consultation, if you decide to cancel before production begins, a consultation fee may apply
- We recommend confirming all details before we begin work on your custom cake
Catering Services
More than 7 Days Before Event:
- Cancellations made more than 7 days before the event date may receive a partial refund (minus the non-refundable deposit)
- The deposit covers planning, consultation, and reservation of your event date
Within 7 Days of Event:
- Cancellations made within 7 days of the event are non-refundable
- At this stage, we have already purchased ingredients and allocated resources for your event
Deposits:
- All deposits paid for catering services are non-refundable once the event date is confirmed
- Deposits secure your booking and cover initial planning costs
Modifications to Orders
Minor Changes:
- Small modifications (flavor changes, color adjustments) can be made up to 48 hours before delivery/pickup
- Please contact us as soon as possible to discuss changes
Major Changes:
- Significant changes to design, size, or quantity may not be possible once production has begun
- Additional charges may apply for major modifications
Rescheduling
If you need to reschedule your order rather than cancel:
- Contact us at least 48 hours before the original date
- We will do our best to accommodate your new date, subject to availability
- Rescheduling is easier than cancellation and helps us avoid waste
Emergency Situations
We understand that genuine emergencies happen. In cases of:
- Medical emergencies
- Family emergencies
- Extreme weather conditions
- Other unforeseen circumstances
Please contact us immediately. We will work with you on a case-by-case basis to find a fair solution, which may include rescheduling or store credit.

Please provide:
- Your order number
- Name and contact details
- Reason for cancellation (optional but helpful)
No-Show Policy
If you fail to pick up your order at the scheduled time without prior notice:
- The order will be held for 24 hours
- After 24 hours, the order will be considered abandoned
- No refunds will be issued for no-show orders
- Storage fees may apply for orders held beyond the scheduled pickup time
Refund Processing
For approved cancellations:
- Refunds will be processed within 5-7 business days
- Refunds will be credited to your original payment method
- You will receive a confirmation email once the refund is processed
